Kristy LaPointe, much like Taylor Swift, was born in 1989. She can usually be found hoarding sparkling water in the writers’ room, most recently for the HBOMax & Family Channel series Home Sweet Rome.

Having grown up in South Africa & the US, Kristy moved to Canada as a teen, graduating from theatre school in 2009. In Toronto she abandoned the stage for comedy- writing satire for places like Reductress, doing an embarrassing amount of improv & musical comedy, and becoming the Pre-verton show host+social media manager for The Beaverton (CTV). This led to her creating & writing two digital series: #interns and Yoga 101(CBC Comedy).

Kristy’s first feature screenplay was selected for support from the Harold Greenberg Fund & Breaking Through The Lens and her second was developed through WIFTV’s Genre Incubator & Frontières, even though she’s honestly more of a tv guy. She’s also made some pretty cute short films and has a couple comedic series in development.

TLDR; Used to be a pretty good actor, went through an improv phase, currently a pretty good sitcom writer.
