Kristy LaPointe can usually be found hoarding cherry coke zero in the writers’ room, currently as a writer and co-producer of TNS CHEER (CBBC).

Having grown up in South Africa, then the USA, Kristy moved to Canada in high school, graduating from theatre school in 2009. She quickly abandoned the stage for comedy- writing satire for places like Reductress, doing an embarrassing amount of improv & musical comedy in Toronto’s filthiest basements. Being hired as the Pre-verton show host+social media manager for The Beaverton (CTV) led to her creating two digital series: #interns and Yoga 101(CBC Comedy) and writing for the coming of age series Home Sweet Rome (HBO Max).

Kristy’s first feature screenplay was selected for support from the Harold Greenberg Fund & Breaking Through The Lens and her second was developed through WIFTV’s Genre Incubator & Frontières, even though she’s honestly more of a tv guy.

TLDR; Used to be a pretty good actor, went through an improv phase, currently a pretty good sitcom writer.
